... is it strange to sometimes wish you could go home? Even if there's nothing there for you? [ nothing except death, in her case. this isn't hilariously morbid or anything, no. ]

I'm just not sure when or how things got so ... complicated. Is this just what life is like...?

[ Xion is outside today, somewhere a little more quiet. She's sitting on the railing of the bridge that passes over the river between houses 14 and 35, swinging her legs gently as she holds onto the rail with one hand and the journal with her other. It ... doesn't seem terribly safe, but then again, she's used to much higher places. Feel free to startle her from her contemplation. She could use it. ]

[Kratos had been out and about, carrying his journal with him and taking note of all of the New Feathers arriving. And he happens to hear this post, too. After a moment of silence and contemplation, he moves to answer... When he realizes that Xion is actually nearby.

He shuts his journal and walks towards her energy signature until he finds her after a few minutes of walking. He won't say anything as he approaches, but he does make sure that his footsteps are loud enough for her to hear. No need to startle her so much that she falls off the bridge of anything.]

[ So lost in her thoughts is Xion that she doesn't even pick up on Kratos's presence until his footfalls hit the bridge. The sound of it makes her look up, blinking, her expression somewhat blank until she registers who it is and relaxes slightly.

She even manages a tiny smile for him before looking out over the water again. ] Hi, Kratos.

[There's a spring in Sokka's step today. Yeah, sure, Edward was dead - but he'd be back. He managed to cheery Winry up, despite her near death experience. But Suki and Aang were in Luceti! Two of his favorite people he hadn't seen in forever. Life was good and- wait, what's that off to his left?

... it's Xion. And she doesn't look happy. This must be what karma is like. The happier Sokka is, the more miserable his friends are? Well, he can't ignore that. He ends up walking along the bridge, leaning up against the railing next to her.]

[ she blinks at him, a little surprised, before giving him a fleeting smile. ] Hi, Sokka. What brings you out here?

[Being sent out on errands by Kairi helped to kill the time, so Sora didn't mind running around on a day like this. It'd been overcast, but now the sun was out, it wasn't stiflingly hot, and it was just a nice day to be outside.]

[Still, seeing Xion on the bridge there isn't what he expects. Sora doesn't care about her sitting like she is, actually - he's done dumber stuff plenty of times - but he goes over and leans against the bridge next to her.]

[ Xion recognizes this voice. How could she forget the girl who'd stood by to watch while she and Replica Riku fought? Xion hesitates only for a moment before replying. ]

... yeah. It's exactly like that. If I went back... it'd be right after something really bad happened, something that couldn't be fixed. But at the same time... it's still someplace I belong. And sometimes I think it might be easier than being here.

[Hermione's been out and about a bit recently. After the fiasco that was the last experiment, she's feeling a bit like she needs to get away from the memory. Or rather, the awkwardness. So, when she comes across Xion, she's looking pensive, too.]

[Though it's not entirely polite to go bothering people when they obviously aren't in the mood to be pulled from their thoughts, Neville recognizes her from the DA, and that means they're secretly friends. He approaches her slowly, careful not to startle her off her perch.] ...Xion, right? Hullo.

[Ramirez was never really one to contact strangers through the journal. Never has been. It felt awkward and he didn't like it.

But...this particular entry hits him, and it hits him hard, especially after finding that what had amounted to his little sister was next on Luceti's missing persons list.

Maybe it's that, maybe it's the fact that a female is saying it and some part of him is sorely trying to compensate for the recent loss. But whatever it is, he finds his voice coming out with a soft reply.]

... maybe. I wish there was an easier way of knowing. But ... life isn't supposed to be easy, is it? [ she doesn't say this with the cynicism you might expect. there's something sincere about her tone that makes it sound like she's never really thought that way before. ]

[It's really just a coincidence that Riku's passing by. Given his rather abrupt return to the village, he's been taking his time to reacquaint himself with the village and just so happens to be in the area.

However, once he nears the bridge he... stops, briefly. Xion did say that she needed some time to think, after all, and if that's the case, then he'd rather not disturb her.

On the other hand, she does look upset...

He hesitates briefly, unsure of what to do. He could always turn around and leave her be, but on the other hand, he'd like to talk to her.

Right now, though? He's just standing there, a couple yards from the bridge.]

[ it takes her a long moment to notice him. she's murmuring a reply into the journal before looking up, and simply quietly contemplates the scenery for a moment before glancing his way, finally picking up on the fact that he's standing here.

her eyes widen slightly, but otherwise she doesn't move. she just watches him watching her, and something about it makes her chest ache. ]
