... is it strange to sometimes wish you could go home? Even if there's nothing there for you? [ nothing except death, in her case. this isn't hilariously morbid or anything, no. ]
I'm just not sure when or how things got so ... complicated. Is this just what life is like...?

She's sitting on the railing of the bridge that passes over the river between houses 14 and 35, swinging her legs gently as she holds onto the rail with one hand and the journal with her other. However, once he nears the bridge he... stops, briefly. Xion did say that she needed some time to think, after all, and if that's the case, then he'd rather not disturb her.
On the other hand, she does look upset...
He hesitates briefly, unsure of what to do. He could always turn around and leave her be, but on the other hand, he'd like to talk to her.
Right now, though? He's just standing there, a couple yards from the bridge.]

her eyes widen slightly, but otherwise she doesn't move. she just watches him watching her, and something about it makes her chest ache. ]

And then he stops, turns back towards the bridge and slowly heads her way. Maybe it's risky, but if she wants him to leave, he'll do so then.]

so she doesn't move, eyebrows knit as she stares at the water, but it's clear she's pretty tense. ]

I'll go if you want, Xion. You did say you need some time to think, and I respect that.
[But... she still looks pretty upset, and hiding away won't do much.]

after a moment she opens them again and stares forlornly at the water. ]
... I don't know what I want anymore.

Sometimes it's hard to tell. I felt the same way for the longest time.

but no. running away has never solved her problems, and she's resolved to try and stop doing that. right now, though, it's hard.
after a moment's quiet, she shifts herself carefully so she can swing her legs back over the railing, so her back is to the water -- and she can better face Riku.
he is shorter. he looks less like the Riku she remembers from home -- even his voice is different -- but from what he said earlier... he sounds more like the Riku she met on the bridge before Beast's Castle that fateful day. ]
... you know what I've been thinking? [ she bites her lip. ] ... that I want to go home.
[ that should mean something to him. like it would mean something to anyone who knows what home means for her. ]

[Of course it means something to him. How could it not?
Feelings aside, Riku knows what would happen if she left. Would she really want to leave... only to die?
Needless to say, he looks quite shocked-- sad, even, to think she feels this way.]

[He stops. They both know what it means, and there's no need to worsen the mood by being too direct.]

I'm tired. I'm tired of things going wrong and bad things happening. Ever since Sora fell asleep things have just been getting worse and worse without any breaks at all and I don't know how much more of it I can take.

[It's true. Recently, things have been rough, and she has every reason to be tired of it all.
Heaving a sigh, Riku moves so that he's leaning against the edge of the bridge, right next to her.]
Listen, Xion. I know things have been rough. Between what happened with the Keyblade, the earthquake, and everything else that's happened recently, you have every reason to feel this way. Sometimes life gets complicated, and you never even see it coming.
I should know. Not like things have been easy for me either. But this isn't about me. It's about you.
[And... up he goes, onto the railing.]
But it hasn't been all bad, has it? I've known you for a while, and even with everything that's been piling up, I've seen you smile every now and then. I might not be Sora, but just because things start out tough doesn't mean they have to stay that way.
The future's what you make it, and even in the deepest darkness, there's always some light- that's what Mickey told me.

but no. she says nothing in response to his tl;dr. she simply leans against him slightly, her eyes thoughtful and far away. ]

Even if longwinded speeches like that are Sora's strongpoint and not his. He probably just sounded strange, but she needs all the encouragement she can get right now.
But for now he'll stay put, quietly gazing into the distance.]

[ but she's not thinking about that in a positive way. she's thinking about how Riku did change everything between them, with just a few words. she takes a deep breath, then finally sits up straight, looking at him with a serious expression. ]
Riku... I'm always going to care about you. But right now, I think I just need ... to start over again. I don't know how to stop feeling this way yet, so ... maybe with a little time, if we start from the beginning... I can fix it.

That's fine. Take all the time you need. I know I messed up, and it's not going to be an easy fix.
