[ ~~Let's pretend it's actually, you know, a sane hour of the morning for the purposes of this post, hm?~~ Poppet, for one reason or another, is in the library, doing research on this and that subject. It's become something of a habit to just come here and read for a while -- it helps her learn, and she doesn't even have to bother anyone for it.

The post actually begins, however, on a yelp of surprise and a series of loud thumps. ]

Oh, great. And my journal fell off, too!

[ That's what you get for putting your journal on top of a stack of not well balanced books. With a sigh she goes about gathering them back up and placing them on the table, only to pause when she sees that the journal fell open when it tumbled over. That gets a soft laugh, and she picks it up to keep speaking, so her voice comes through much clearer. ]

Sorry for anyone who heard that. I just dropped a few things, that's all.

[ with that, she'll go back to her reading. feel free to come bother her! ... certain experiments with certain very unfortunate effects entirely aside, of course. lucky the effects of that are just over the journal, eh? ]

[ shakes her head, fingers intertwining tightly. ]

No, I ... I'm confused. I... I don't know what to call this feeling.

What kind of feeling? Maybe I could help.

[ at a loss! abruptly takes one of his hands and intertwines their fingers instead, her expression begging him to understand. ]

[... Ah. At first he looks a bit startled, but... well.

Heh. He nods, giving her hand a light squeeze.]

... [ suddenly smiles, relieved. damn, what is this funny warm twisty feeling. scoots her chair so it's right next to his and leans against him a little, too. ]

[She can lean all she wants. He'll return the smile and just hang there, yep, maybe leaning back a bit himself... He won't say anything just yet, though.]

[ With her free hand, she uses her fingers to trace the back of the hand of his that she's holding, soft, feather-light touches ]

You know, it's strange, but ... I think maybe I've always felt this way.

[Hopefully she doesn't mind that glove of his. Yep, that's one thing that hasn't changed; those funky black gloves and wristbands.]

You know, it's funny you mention that...

[ Not in the slightest. Right now she probably even finds them endearing.

Tilts her head, though, to look up at him, blinking and sorta hopeful. ]

You mean you...?

[And he nods! Still smiling, too.]

Yeah.

... [ just ... smiles, squeezing his hand and blushing all over again. ]

Is this... "love"?

Sure is.

[She catches on fast. Good thing he explained that to her before.]

[ her smile just widens, lighting up her whole face. she looks ... really, really happy. Instead of just leaning, she practically cuddles against him this time, beaming and generally just being adorable. ]

I'm... I'm really happy.

[Nooo, not the cute. It burns-- only it doesn't, because he's totally okay with this in his current mindset.]

Good. That's what I like to see.

[ okay, that gets a quiet laugh. ]

I don't know what I'd do without you, sometimes. Now that I think about it... I'm not sure how I didn't realize this sooner.

There's a reason why I told you about this, Xion.

... [ blinks at him questioningly. does he mean what she thinks he means...? ]

In other words, I've felt this way for a while.

[/EVENT mentality]

... [ hee. lets go of him and stops leaning so she can curl up in her chair, pulling her knees up to her chest as she watches him fondly. ]

Remember when I told you I wasn't sure if I could feel love? ... I think I was asking for a reason, too.

Well, I'd say this all worked out, then. Wouldn't you?

Yes! [ laughs again. then puts her feet back on the floor so she can gesture all excited-like ]

Does that mean we're, um, a couple now? It sounded silly before, but I think maybe I'd like to try one of those date things... it might be fun!

[Okay, that's it. Riku laughs, although he means nothing bad by it!]

Yeah, guess it does. As for dates, I don't see why not. Can't say I've done anything like that before, but it's worth a shot.

[ that's alright, she figures. she's too excited and happy and derpy to take that in a negative way. CLAPS HER HANDS TOGETHER, EVEN. ]
