[ ~~Let's pretend it's actually, you know, a sane hour of the morning for the purposes of this post, hm?~~ Poppet, for one reason or another, is in the library, doing research on this and that subject. It's become something of a habit to just come here and read for a while -- it helps her learn, and she doesn't even have to bother anyone for it.

The post actually begins, however, on a yelp of surprise and a series of loud thumps. ]

Oh, great. And my journal fell off, too!

[ That's what you get for putting your journal on top of a stack of not well balanced books. With a sigh she goes about gathering them back up and placing them on the table, only to pause when she sees that the journal fell open when it tumbled over. That gets a soft laugh, and she picks it up to keep speaking, so her voice comes through much clearer. ]

Sorry for anyone who heard that. I just dropped a few things, that's all.

[ with that, she'll go back to her reading. feel free to come bother her! ... certain experiments with certain very unfortunate effects entirely aside, of course. lucky the effects of that are just over the journal, eh? ]

[Right, food. We can assume they've got that, maaaybe? Riku's totally used to this kinda food, but to Xion it must be something totally new.]

[ oh yeah. once the food is there, Xion's just kind of going :O, then :D! ]

Hey, this is pizza, right? I've only ever had it once before. [ sorry, Riku, her BFFs beat you to it. ]

[... Well drat. Aw well, can't win at everything. He nods.]

[ digs in! because pizza is awesome. she seems to be very much enjoying it, at least. good choice, Riku. ]

[Hey, pizza is good. He probably ate sea food more back home, but that's because he lived on an island. ...Pizza's still awesome, anyway. Nom.]

Did you want to do anything else, after this?

Might as well. Any suggestions?

[ just shakes her head. ] I don't really know what there is to do here... but there must be something.

[Shrug.]

Could always just look around. You're right, there has to be something to do around here.

[ props her chin on her hand. thinking caps time! ]

Well ... since it's still cold, what sort of things do people normally do during the winter?

Snow ball fights, skating, I guess. I know some people build forts.

[Another shrug. He's more used to tropical weather. :|]

Yeah. Never heard of it?

[ just shakes her head. ]

[... Huh.]

Maybe I should just show you.

[Not that he's...ever done it before. And it sounds silly, but what better way to explain? And he wouldn't want to confuse her more.]

[ well ... they're probably done with their pizza by now, so they can probably head out. so she nods. ]

Well, okay. As long as it's with you, I'm sure it'll be fun.

Heh. You do realize how sappy that sounds, right?

[Well, up he goes. Maybe a shop will have skates...]

Oh. Um ... I guess it does. [ sheepishface. but she'll get up to follow him, taking his hand again and twining their fingers together. ]

It's fine.

[Hand holding yaaay. So he'll go ahead and scoop by one of the shops to grab some skates before leading her to the lake. :D]

[ oh god what are these skate things are those blades why are they sharp you put them on your feet what is this? either way she'll probably end up holding her pair so she can inspect them from every angle while making such a FACE. see icon, in fact. ]

[Meanwhile, Riku will demonstrate how to put them on, fff.]

It shouldn't be too hard...

[ this is so fascinating. poppet's face is in a permanent state of :O as she follows his lead and tries putting them on ... though she has to sit down to do it. eventually she manages to get both of them on and laced up. standing is another matter. ]

[This is awkward, actually. He's...never done this before, but Riku's at least trying to stay balanced.]

[ at least the ground is more or less solid near the lake, so their blades don't sink into the ground. she shakes her head, wobbling her way onto her feet. she has to pinwheel her arms and everything, but sooooort of mostly manages it. ]
