[ ~~Let's pretend it's actually, you know, a sane hour of the morning for the purposes of this post, hm?~~ Poppet, for one reason or another, is in the library, doing research on this and that subject. It's become something of a habit to just come here and read for a while -- it helps her learn, and she doesn't even have to bother anyone for it.

The post actually begins, however, on a yelp of surprise and a series of loud thumps. ]

Oh, great. And my journal fell off, too!

[ That's what you get for putting your journal on top of a stack of not well balanced books. With a sigh she goes about gathering them back up and placing them on the table, only to pause when she sees that the journal fell open when it tumbled over. That gets a soft laugh, and she picks it up to keep speaking, so her voice comes through much clearer. ]

Sorry for anyone who heard that. I just dropped a few things, that's all.

[ with that, she'll go back to her reading. feel free to come bother her! ... certain experiments with certain very unfortunate effects entirely aside, of course. lucky the effects of that are just over the journal, eh? ]

[And he'll skate right on ahead, rolling his eyes!]

[ catches up to him, gliding by his side, hands clasped behind her back while she gives him an impish kind of grim. ]

Next time we spar, of course. Maybe I can't beat you at skating, but I can beat you at fighting! I have to hold back against you, even.

[ nyah nyah~ skates ahead, very pleased with herself. ]

Yeah? Well maybe I was holding back against you.

[... Watch as Riku skates backwards.]

Oh yeah? Does that mean I'm free to use magic next time? [ she comes around in a circle and stops to watch him do that, Very Unimpressed. ] Now you're just showing off.

Heh. Maybe.

[Aaand forwards again.]

So?

Maybe? What's that supposed to mean?

So you're a big ham. What else is new?

[ laaaaughs and skates ahead, heading back for the shore. ]

I'll let you fill in the blanks.

[Ooooh no you don't. Riku's turning right around in an attempt to beat her there.]

Now you're just pushing it.

[ sorry ignoring you now because ABRUPTLY BREAKING OUT INTO A SPRINT. an ice skating version of a sprint, anyway. and she's got a head start because of his little skating backwards stunt. CAN YOU BEAT HER TO IT, RIKU? ]

[No, no he can't. He manages to make it to shore...juuust after her. Well, snap. >|]

[ HEE, VICTORY! even goes \o/ for real. and grins at Riku. watchu gonna do about that, huh. ]

[Psh. He's gonna slooowly stroll on past.]

You're only saying that because you don't want to admit you lost.

[ ... in his skates. because if so Xion is gonna lol. people always look funny trying to walk in skates on normal ground. ]

[...Well no. He's going to slip back into his shoes before he goes anywhere.]

So, what now?

[ laughs a little and does the same. one she's back on her feet, she hugs her skates to her chest and thinks. ]

... someplace warm. It's cold out here. But going back to my apartment would probably be a bad idea... what about yours?

Good idea. I doubt Sora and Kairi'd mind if they're even at home.

[Let us walk that way now, yus?]

Sounds like a plan.

[ sure. C: ... but what to do with these skates. they're preventing me from holding your hand, woe. ]

[Aw well. Once they're in his room, they can do cute stuff. First he'll be sure to drop off those skates, but after that... off to the apartment!

It does look like the apartment's empty, though, so once they're in his room he'll... plop.]

[ oh yay. once the skates are dropped off, she starts holding his hand again. c:

... plop where. Xion is suddenly looking shy again. ]

[On his bed, of course! Well, he's just sitting on the edge.]

You can come over here if you want.

... [ still shy, but she does make her way over and sit down next to him, suddenly blushing again. to distract herself, she looks around his room a little. ]

I've never been in here before... [ pauses. ] It reminds me of something, somehow...

Sora and Kairi tried to make it look more like my room back home.

[Hmm. Well, since she's close, hopefully she won't mind him idly slinging an arm around her. c:]

Oh... like the islands? Maybe that's it...

[ sdlkghs SQUEAKS. sdghl the flailing, good god, the flailing. ... even if it is internal. she's just going to blush flamingly bright, but lean right into it, getting comfortable against him. ]

Basically.

[Good. And in return he'll give a contented sigh, just hanging tight here. But maybe...]

[ mmm, just goes silent, after that. not that it's an awkward silence -- she's just settling in against him, blush slowly fading as she gets used to the sensation of having someone's arm around her. someone she loves, anyway. and this is nice, anyway. after a moment she'll even shut her eyes. ]

[He'll keep quiet for a few minutes, at least, just holding her close. It's...definitely nice. Much different from being jealous of a certain bff.

Eventually, though, he speaks up.]

You know, there's one thing we haven't tried yet.
