[fourteen]

[ Sometime during the night, the Malnosso robots dumped Xion off where they'd picked her up -- square in the middle of town. There and gone, quick as you please, leaving an unconscious girl behind.

However, she quickly comes to, stirring blearily and slowly sitting up. ]

Where....?

[ And then her eyes go wide. Something looks ... different. At this time of night -- or morning, really -- the sun is only just barely starting to come up, turning the sky a deep, dark blue. It's just light enough to see by, but can't properly be called morning yet.

And in this mock twilight, Xion sees that Luceti suddenly seems horribly familiar yet bizarre at the same time. She sits stunned for a moment, unable to process what she's seeing, then looks over her shoulder at the fountain.

What she sees makes her yelp. ]

Whoa! But that's... what is... no way! I'm still in Luceti, right? But how...

[ This is too strange. Xion locates her journal, conveniently nearby as always, and immediately starts talking into it, too curious and excited to really stop and care about the fact that she just got back. ]

Axel! Roxas! Are you guys awake? Have you seen the town yet? It looks -- it looks so much like Halloween Town! I thought I was actually there when I woke up...

[ Xion looks away from the journal to stare in wonder around the spooky town. Finally, she stands, a smile spreading across her face. ]

I wonder what all this is about...

[ Another pause. Then Xion gives another abrupt shout of surprise and drops her journal, unable to stop herself from exclaiming aloud ]

What am I wearing?! Are these... are these bunny ears...?

(ooc; this, ftr. also, she happens to be covered in bruises, which is much more apparent with all that skin bared. she'll be noticing it belatedly in threads instead of here in the post proper. don't worry; at least she didn't feel any pain, right? :|b

ps this is going up more or less in real time, at 6:30 in the morning or so.

[ pause. Xion has to take a moment to register this voice, since the first time she heard it, she was five. After a moment, however, she registers the voice ]

Giles! You can talk again? [ :o ] But, um... not really. I mean, this place looks really familiar now, but I don't know why it looks this way.

Oh. Um...[Wow. Yikes, that's right. He remembers suddenly that this is the first time they've spoken properly, without direct interference by the Malnosso] Yes. For a few days now, actually. Sorry, I've just, um, been a bit preoccupied.

From what I've heard, this isn't what they did last year. The Organization, I mean. Well, the costumes, yes, but not the town.

Hi, Sokka. How long was I gone? [ sheepish. and sorry man. your sister will be back, you know, eventually. ]

[ Fenimore does not think of 6:30 as a reasonable hour to be awake. Unfortunately for her, she left her journal open. Her motions as she reaches to try to shut the journal unknowingly echo those of people who live in worlds with alarm clocks. Her lack of practice on such matters, though, only serve to knock over the journal and, as always in Luceti, slight jarring activates the journal's voice function.

Fenimore's voice is very groggy and she has yet to realize who it is who is talking. ] --of person would use her journal at this hour? People are trying to sleep! Where did--? Geez, can't they be quiet for two seconds?

[What is Naoki doing up at 6:30? Going to get some early grocery pick-up done, of course. Haruki was after waking him up an hour and a half before anyway...and he wanted to check out the town and how much is after changing.

He's headed toward the plaza and may not even notice you at first, Xion, occupied with his looking around. His glowing kind of makes him less-than-unnoticeable, though, so...]

[ yeah that's hard to miss. even as embarrassed as she feels over her ... outfit ... Xion can't help but smile a little and call out to him. ]

Naoki!

[ she remembers a second too late that she's bruised. it makes her smile vanish and she bites her lip, honestly hoping he won't, uh. notice. or something. ]

[Well, Riku does have a tendency to be out and about early! He's already noticed the changes himself, including his ridiculous (http://images.easyart.com/i/prints/rw/lg/1/8/Disney-Chernabog-Evil-Emerges-181926.jpg) costume. It's probably pretty tacky looking, to be honest.

But when he sees Xion? Yeah, forget the costume. Those bruises are pretty nasty.]

[ ... something about the way Riku is dressed seems weirdly familiar, like a thing from a half-forgotten dream... or a lost memory.

but Xion ignores the feeling for now, instead just blinking at him. ]

[ wrong. but then she remembers that oh, yeah, she is covered in bruises, isn't she. nasty ones. immediately she goes quiet, not to mention awkward, looking away from him. One of the bunny ears flops over into her face. ]

Yeah! Normally I'd say it's nice to be back, but waking up to all of this was a little startling.
