[ Sometime during the night, the Malnosso robots dumped Xion off where they'd picked her up -- square in the middle of town. There and gone, quick as you please, leaving an unconscious girl behind.

However, she quickly comes to, stirring blearily and slowly sitting up. ]

Where....?

[ And then her eyes go wide. Something looks ... different. At this time of night -- or morning, really -- the sun is only just barely starting to come up, turning the sky a deep, dark blue. It's just light enough to see by, but can't properly be called morning yet.

And in this mock twilight, Xion sees that Luceti suddenly seems horribly familiar yet bizarre at the same time. She sits stunned for a moment, unable to process what she's seeing, then looks over her shoulder at the fountain.

What she sees makes her yelp. ]

Whoa! But that's... what is... no way! I'm still in Luceti, right? But how...

[ This is too strange. Xion locates her journal, conveniently nearby as always, and immediately starts talking into it, too curious and excited to really stop and care about the fact that she just got back. ]

Axel! Roxas! Are you guys awake? Have you seen the town yet? It looks -- it looks so much like Halloween Town! I thought I was actually there when I woke up...

[ Xion looks away from the journal to stare in wonder around the spooky town. Finally, she stands, a smile spreading across her face. ]

I wonder what all this is about...

[ Another pause. Then Xion gives another abrupt shout of surprise and drops her journal, unable to stop herself from exclaiming aloud ]

What am I wearing?! Are these... are these bunny ears...?

(ooc; this, ftr. also, she happens to be covered in bruises, which is much more apparent with all that skin bared. she'll be noticing it belatedly in threads instead of here in the post proper. don't worry; at least she didn't feel any pain, right? :|b

ps this is going up more or less in real time, at 6:30 in the morning or so.

Figures. It's good to be back. How long has the village been like this, by the way? It's so strange! [ yes. yes they are. only comment on them if you want her to blush and stammer. ]

Like what? [He hasn't quite left home. He's still at home annoyed at his new clothes that only some loser short guy would wear.]

... I guess that answers my question ... look outside! It's all spooky! [ she sounds pretty amused about it, though, so it can't be TOO bad. ]

[Give him a few minutes before....]

... wow. That's just weird.

It looks just like this world I've been too before! [ she actually sounds excited. ] I never could decide if that place was interesting or just kinda creepy...

[Still taking it all in. He sounds kind of bewildered about it.]

I uh... don't really get it.

Me neither. I mean, it looks familiar, but I don't know why the town's like this...

[ a pause. Halloween town... ]

Sokka, what's the date?

Twenty-third. Why?

... yeah, I guess that must be it. It's a little early, but between the costumes and the way everything suddenly looks, I guess this is how the Malnosso are making us celebrate Halloween this year. That's on the 31st, right? I read about it before...

Hey, I have no clue! Besides what people tell me. It doesn't sound all that great to me.

I've only read about it myself... at least, what the holiday's supposed to be like, which is really different from the way Halloween Town actually is. I wonder if we'll get candy... [ candy would be nice. ]

... "Halloween Town"? What's that? [A pause.] And we can get candy at the store anytime we want.

Oh, it's the world I mentioned earlier! I fought Heartless there a bunch of times. It's a little weird how similar the village looks to that place right now, though. [ pause ] I don't think that's the point, exactly...

Halloween Town. But it's a world. [And then he remembers that her world is the same as Riku's. And he never asks. Because it makes no sense.]

Maybe they stole the idea from there.

... yeah? [ is there some problem with this perfectly unassailable train of logic. ]

But I guess it's possible. I mean, it looks so similar... I just hope no Heartless show up, too.

[Nope, dropping that line of thought altogether.]

Are they really lacking blood pumping organs?

Heartless, you mean? Well... yeah. I mean, when you hit them, they just sorta dissolve, and you can see the heart they stole disappear... it's not like there's blood or anything. [ what a weird question, sokka. ]

But if they stole a heart, why is there no blood? I mean, stealing hearts would have to be a pretty messy business...

... I think you're thinking about this a little too literally... it's not like that. In my world, the heart is ... I guess it makes people who they are. Without a heart you can't feel any emotions... If you wanted to know if people still have the actual, um, organ, you'd probably have to ask Vexen. He's the scientist. If anybody would know, it'd be him.

... I'll pass. I kind of figured they weren't literal hearts. [He just thinks the usage of the term is amusing.]

Oh. [ WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT THEN, GOSH. she gives a quiet laugh. ] I've never understood it that well myself. I just sort of took it for granted and never really questioned it.

[Because this was way more fun?]

But really, could you imagine literally heartless enemies? I mean, assuming they aren't robots... they'd come after us, but then immediately fall over and die. From not having a heart.

[ jerk.

but his description makes her pause, blinking for a moment, before she just starts to laugh. ] Sokka, that's terrible! Man, if only Heartless were that easy. It would have saved me a lot of trouble!

Yeah, if only. [He has no idea what Heartless are actually like.]

[ yeah calling him on that. ] ... Sokka, you don't even... [ except nevermind. she just sighs, a little amused. ] Never mind. Hopefully you'll never find out first hand.

... hey, did you end up in a costume? [ she suddenly remembers this, and, well ... hopes she is not alone in this horrible embarrassment. ]
