[ Xion is out of the house today. Mostly because it's become almost impossible to stay there. She hasn't slept for more than a handful of hours since Vanitas attacked -- three days ago. She's so exhausted she can barely stay on her feet, but better awake and moving than a sitting target.

Who could sleep, knowing that at any minute someone stronger than you and your friends could break into your home and kill you whenever he wanted?

It's this question that drives her to address Luceti at large, once she's got herself settled on the railing of That One Bridge. Hey, it's like right next to her house and she wanted to sit on a bridge, so sue her. ]

What would you do if you didn't feel safe in your own home anymore?

[ and this is to say nothing -- not a damn thing -- of how she feels about Roxas right now. He had no excuse -- what defense could you give? -- and Axel almost died -- for what? Why? Why had any of this happened? Does she blame Roxas, for extending the invitation, or Vanitas, for taking it? Even if she had something to say to him, she couldn't -- he hasn't been home in days.

It's a very numb Poppet that's sitting on that there railing, swinging her legs and staring at the water below. Please interrupt her thoughts -- for they are very grim ones. ]

Careful...? Why? But... I-- it's worth it, if all we need to do is be careful to hide from Vanitas forever.

Um -- [ right now? no, no, she has people to talk to first... ]

Tomorrow? I need to talk to my friends and make sure they're okay with it... and then I need to ask the person I'd like to be Secret Keeper. [ a pause, as she considers the fact that only she is close with Sanji. Might they want someone else...? ] Can there be more than one Secret Keeper?

[ ... that name ... it's strangely familiar, somehow. like something from a very distant memory...

but that couldn't be right, could it? Xion puts it out of her mind. ]

Captain Sparrow. [ she laughs -- a tiny, quiet thing. ] I'm Xion. It's nice to meet you, though... it probably would have been better under different circumstances. [ a beat, then: ] Do you really have a monkey?

[ oh man. ]

[Well, that certainly gets her attention. Her head snaps up to give Xion a swift look. Her, too? After a second, Ami nods.]

[ oh thank goodness. Xion has to press a hand over her mouth to stop the noise of relief from getting out -- because it would have sounded choked up -- but when she speaks, her voice radiates gratitude. ] That's ... that's good to know.

[ a pause. it says something for how she feels about Vanitas right now that her first reaction to that idea is not to feel troubled, or even the littlest bit bothered. all she does is sigh. ] It would be ... but he'd just come back. You know that. And when he did... I don't think he'd be too happy. I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

So you don't give away the secret unintentionally. It's mostly the Secret-Keeper who will have to be careful. I'd suggest someone outside your house just so they won't have to worry about Apparating- er, Teleporting into a very specific place every time they enter or exit the house.

[She listens and hesitates.] Yes, it's possible to have as many Secret-Keepers as you want, but... with each Secret-Keeper, the risk for the secret getting out is multiplied. It's up to you, really, but they'll need to be there when I perform the charm.

[ ohhh. so that's what he meant. after Xion thinks about this a moment, she shakes her head. ] I don't know if it'd give us enough warning to get away from him in time.

[ she hesitates. is this a bad idea? what would her friends think? ... would they judge her, for this?

she's already judging herself. ]

I was ... wondering if you could make me a weapon. ... a -- a replica of the Keyblade.

[ a replica weapon for a Replica girl. fitting. but just asking makes her nervous. ]

... some bad things that have been happening lately.

[ shakes her head. that's the most detail she'll go into, unless Crona REALLY wants to know. poor boy is worried enough about most things. ]

[Oh. Oh. Well, this is a lot different than what he expected. Um... how does he put this delicately? Because this is... well, it's just not a good idea.]

I... I'm not sure so sure that's a good idea, Xion...

As much as I hate to say it, Granger's perhaps your best bet for complicated magic. She'll make sure your house is safe.

[Hmm. Isn't that what he told Hisoka when the boy suggested killing Riddle? Xion has a point. Damn.] Isn't there a way to outsmart him?

So set up backdoors. [Why wouldn't it work? It worked back home pretty well.]

[Oh yes, he'd like to know! He would like to be able to help the few friends he has.]

[Here, Xion, have a not!twin joining you against that railing. She hasn't slept very well either over the last few days, but only because she's been taken on being Axel's nurse-maid until he's fully stable. The redhead's sleeping right now, so the girl figured she could get away for a bit.]

We'll get through this. [It's a very small consolation, but she truly does believe that.]

I'm sure she will! She's a Keyblade Master now, so maybe she could take you in as an apprentice.

Well, we don't have many options. It's not like we can trap him anywhere, so we'll have to make sure he doesn't find us.

And if he does, we'll just have to make sure we're strong enough. If we took him on as a group, maybe it'd be enough to slow him down.

[The bridge isn't far away from him either, one of the advantages of being practically neighbours. So it doesn't take him long to arrive, hands stuffed in his pants pockets (since his jacket doesn't have any and Xion still has his coat 8¦) and his head tilted up just slightly to look for her. He has his sword strapped to his back; he felt it necessary, after what happened...

Once he sees her, and he's still some distance away, he can't help but smile and wave.]

How is he?

[Blunt as ever. Sigh.]

[ dammit. she winces. ]

... why? How bad could it be?

Look... I know you're really set on this, but... a keyblade just isn't a very good weapon. Sure, maybe if it's some kind of magical thing. But you would be a lot better off with a sword... a spear... or just about anything else.

[.... yeah, see, he has no actual objections about you fighting. Just your weapon of choice.]

[ Oh, Luke. If only she could be cheerful for you, or even just smile.

But she can't. When she spots him, her expression clears momentarily... then tightens again. She swings her legs over the railing and hops back onto the bridge, only waiting just long enough -- practically vibrating with impatience all the while -- for him to make it onto the thing before she more or less tosses herself at him in a very tight hug.

Since he showed up at her home -- since she hugged him then -- she's wanted to do this. She just really needs a hug, to put it simply, and she wanted it from him. And now he's here, and he's warm, and he's safe. Thank goodness. ]

Kairi... [ Xion started a little at her voice, having been very lost in her own thoughts. But now that the other girl is here...

She'll swing her legs over the railing and hop down onto the bridge. ]

Here, I wanted to show you something. I think I might've found a solution...

[ She pulls up her conversation with Hermione in her journal, so Kairi can see it, then hands the book over. ]

[Luke wasn't really expecting a smile anyway, and even if he got one, he knows it'd just be from her trying too hard. He knows way too many people like that, and it can get frustrating sometimes, especially since he knows bottling things up just makes it worse...

So when Xion hugs him, it still surprises him a little, but he's also relieved. And sad, because he can't imagine coming close to losing a best friend, especially in such circumstances... No one deserves that. Least of all her...

There's only a second's pause before Luke lifts his arms to return that hug, his own supportive, but just as tight. He was honestly a little scared, when he first heard her screaming like that... And the danger isn't over.]

Xion...

[She's not really sure this will work at all, since it's a little different, but if people are in danger!]

Maybe you could stay at your home, but make him think you've gone somewhere else...? And then maybe you can find somebody to stop him!
