[ Waking up in a forest in a white sundress when it's cold and snowing is no fun at all, especially when she is dead certain she's not supposed to be here at all. She's clutching the journal she found to her chest as she makes her slow way through the trees, shivering violently. Every so often she stops and sets the journal down so she can cast a Fire spell to try and warm her hands a bit. She's desperate to find some shelter, anywhere she can get out of this cold and just have a moment to think through what the heck is happening here.

But she has no idea where she's going, and finally she stops, letting a few particularly hard shivers pass before she looks down at the journal in her arms. Her musings are a little muddled by her teeth chattering, yes. ]

I don't understand... I'm n-n-not supposed to be here, and I don't even know what happened to my clothes, or what this little book is for.

[ And she glances over her shoulder, frowning softly. ]

And I've g-g-got these wings ... last time I checked, I definitely didn't have wings.

[ Heaving a sigh, she hugs the journal close to her chest again, and rubs a hand up and down one arm, staring at the sky. ]

Start of every month. It's been going on like this for a pretty long time, not to freak you out or anything.

Wow, that often? There must be a lot of people here...

[ she makes a soft, "uh-uh" kind of noise. ] I've already been told some things about this place by a few other people. Though everyone keeps mentioning experiments and then not telling me what they are.

[Bit of a pause, then--] They ... vary. Besides, it's probably better that you settle in a little before hearing about that stuff anyway.

[... Well, that he can relate to. Another short pause.] ... Some change the environment, some change people physically, and some mess around with personalities. They generally show up without warning, so there's no telling exactly when the next one will hit. We just stay ready for anything.

[ she pauses, kind of surprised he actually told her. there's a faint thankful note in her voice when she speaks up ]

Thanks. At least I know now. Not that expecting the unexpected is going to be easy. [ tiny, quiet laugh ]

Nothing like that. The original leader came here a few months ago, so I just stepped down and let him take over again. That's all.
