[ She is still feeling somewhat awkward after her stint as her younger self. It was a very stark reminder of just how far she's come, and she feels like she may never make it back up to Luke.

Thus, it's rather welcome to hear from Draco, who she hadn't encountered in her altered state, though his question strikes her as a little odd. ]

Um... I feel like it might be cold! [ A laugh. ] But it sounds nice. Where would you like to meet?

Thus jackets and warming charms. [The brief pause, and then--] The south lake? Might do some good to walk the perimeter, see where that gets us.

[ Hm. Some good for who? This is very mysterious, and somewhat unlike Draco. But she'll roll with it; it's been a while since she's seen him. ]

I think that sounds like a great idea. When do you want me to be there?

[ She'll portal there just a few moments behind him, though of course she does not pick precisely the same spot. So she'll start walking, looking around and calling out for him. ]

[He's standing there, looking out at the water quietly and only vaguely turning his head to spot Xion out of the corner of his eye. He's wrapped up in a jacket and a scarf, hair shagging in his eyes a bit. All in all, he doesn't look that different. He's vaguely aware of what had happened to her based on the records in the journal, but he won't bring it up unless she does first. He turns then, striding toward her with careful steps.]

Your portals never cease to fascinate me.

Oh, the darkness corridors? [ She lifts a hand, smiling somewhat ruefully as darkness twirls and twines briefly around her fingers before she banishes it. ] Sometimes I don't understand it myself... but it is useful.

[ She smiles warmly, very warmly, for his approach. ] It's really good to see you, Draco.

...it's good to see you as well. [The words are slow and careful, but he does give her a wry grin. It's good to be back, is what he means to say but he doesn't.]

It's been a while, hasn't it? At least weeks. What have you been up to?

[ She makes a bit of a wincing, apologetic face. ] Um. I've been with the Malnosso for a while... and then when I came back they made me young again. Let's just say I'm glad to be back for real now.

...sorry I missed that. [Again with the small, wry grin. He keeps his hands in his pockets, balling them into fists to keep his composure.] Bet you caused quite a stir with everyone you know.

[ She presses a hand to her face, going a little pink. ] Don't be. I was ... I was really different back then.

[ She shakes her head. ] Not to mention I made everyone sad! I felt so bad about it later.

[There's a small, pensive hum.] Can't have been too terribly different. I'm sure I would have liked you all the same. [Doubtful, but it's actually quite hard for him to imagine himself not enjoying Xion's company.]

You've made everyone sad before, haven't you? And they've always forgiven you, haven't they? Perhaps sadness isn't the worst feeling there is. [He falls silent then, continuing to walk.] ...have I missed much else?

[ That gets a little smile. ] Thanks, Draco.

[ A beat, as she looks at him. He's always so honest. ] ... maybe you're right about that. And at least I returned to normal, right? [ She smiles down at her feet, for a moment, then hums as she considers his question. ] I guess it depends. Do you mean in general?

[A wave of the hand. Don't mention it, really.]

Of course I'm right. And at least you're normal again, whatever that means. [Another half-hearted grin before he's back into careful mode. How to word that he's completely unaware of the going-ons of the village post the last draft...] Yeah, in general. It's far too quiet now.

[ She shakes her head a little slowly. ] ... I don't really know. I was gone for such a long time... I missed the draft. [ Somewhat soberly. ] You probably know more than I do.

...that long huh? [Well. That just means there isn't any more small talk he can make before he gets to his point.] Maybe. [Another long pause, allowing them to walk in silence for at least five minutes.]

...you've probably guessed that there's something I want to ask you.

Yeah. [ Without any pause at all, as she tucks her hair behind her ear. ] I know you wouldn't ask me out here without some kind of reason.

...I'm not entirely sure. [Which, he supposes, is true enough.] I wanted to ask you questions about the memory. I figured you'd be the best candidate to ask, considering who you are and the things you've experienced. ...how would you, or anyone really, know if something was missing?

.... that's a hard question to answer. [ And she thinks about it, very hard. She tilts her head back, staring at the sky and considering. ] I sort of had the opposite problem... having all those memories that weren't mine. If something went missing... I think maybe I'd feel it here. [ She presses a hand over her chest. ] Your mind might forget something, but... your heart never does. Something will always feel wrong... like something is missing, but you don't know what.

[...of course. How could he have been so stupid as to not account for the heart? But the heart could easily change, right? If he didn't know what was missing, eventually his heart would change and right itself again. He's not sure how he knows his heart can change so easily, instinct maybe. But it seemed right. He's silent for another long stretch of time as he considers her words.]

Hmm. Luckily, I suppose the heart is easier to remedy than the mind. Right? Feelings change and all that.

... I'm not so sure. The mind forgets, but... I think it's harder for the heart to let go. [ Her fingers curl. She remembers... Riku. ]
