oo41 [ action ]
[ Today, you are having a perfectly normal day. Perhaps you are on your way to the battle dome. Perhaps you're walking home along the path. Perhaps you're in the middle of town. Or perhaps you're heading further north.
If you're anywhere along this meandering south-to-north route, a young girl is going to slam into you at a full tilt. She's very sorry; she didn't see you there. But she's got this sense of absolute panic she can't quite shake, and she wants to get home right this moment.
In her disorientation, she has, of course, forgotten she can access magical portals of darkness. Forgive her; after all, she spent rather a long time here without them! And who wants to be messing about with the forces of darkness when they are too panicked to think straight?
Anyway, she may slam into you so hard that you both fall over. Or maybe she'll just knock you off balance. Either way, there is now a very startled, dazed, and still somewhat panicked teenager staring at you with wide eyes. She's barefoot, and her dress is dirty, but she seems otherwise alright. What will you do? ]

I was starting to get worried! Are you okay?

M'fine. We both are, it looks like.
no subject
I'm so glad to see you. ... sorry about that, by the way. [ With a faint, sheepish laugh to her tone. ] I wasn't watching where I was going.

[he's just poking lightly at her, if his tone and the way his smile hasn't gone anywhere is anything to go by. Sora slowly untangles himself from the wreckage and pushes himself to his feet with a light dusting off of his shorts. and if Xion still wasn't sure about what he said a moment ago, he reaches down to offer his hand, and rounds it off with a:]
I think I probably would have done the same thing, if I were in your shoes. Let's go home.

Aw, I can go get food any day of the week! Getting you home's more important.
... Unless you're hungry. Are you?

I don't mind fetching something for you, if you want. What're you hungry for?

After the fifth or sixth time of this, she lifts a hand to her face, as if she might find something there, then looks up at him. ]
Sora? Is something wrong? [ Maybe he's still worried about her... ]
no subject
I just wanted to ask you something, s'all. Not sure if now's a good time, though.
no subject
No... it's okay. If you have something you want to ask, then ... I want to hear it.
no subject
[what he really wants to ask, though, is why-- why Xion would give herself up for him, when they'd never really met in person back then-- and not just because it might have seemed like the right thing to do. was it? but when Sora looks at her, sees her eyes set in that familiar face, he feels like there's a part of him that somewhat understands. he gave himself up for Kairi. he's stuck his neck out on the line for people he barely knew before. maybe the same sort of thing that drives him to risk it drives Xion, too.]
[not that he would know how to spit his real question out, anyway. it's that tiny sliver of his own experience and understanding that ultimately keeps him quiet on the thought.]

But she'll oblige, folding one arm over her chest while her other hand comes up as a prop for her chin. ]
Well ... it wasn't so bad. Since I could wield the Keyblade, I went out on missions every day collecting hearts, so we could build Kingdom Hearts. [ Her eyes briefly cloud over with something a little -- darker, more troubled, but it vanishes quickly. ] I'd travel all over to different worlds... sometimes with a partner, but a lot of the time I was by myself. It was pretty much always the same, fighting Heartless or doing reconnaissance. Still... every day after work, I'd meet Axel and Roxas up on the clock tower in Twilight Town. [ She smiles. ] And we'd eat ice cream together! I always looked forward to that, every day... no matter how hard my mission was, it'd be worth it just to see them, and to trade stories about what we'd done.
... sometimes things would go wrong, though. [ Riku. Losing her Keyblade. Discovering her true nature... ] But -- but you said before everything. So ... I guess it was pretty normal.
no subject
You were happy then, right?
no subject
... Sora ... why are you asking me these things?
no subject
no subject
... I was happy then ... at least, I thought I was. But ... not always. A lot of bad things happened back then, too. But ... Sora, I appreciate it, I really do, but ... you can't make it stay that way. [ She smiles, a little. ] All you have to do is be my friend. After all, that's ... that's all I want.
no subject
You've got it, Xion.
no subject
no subject
No. I just... Roxas told me a little bit about his life before he came here, that's all.
