[ Xion definitely opened her journal with a purpose, but somewhere along the way she got distracted. She can be heard in the background making quiet, frustrated noises. Seems like she's struggling with something. With a final huff of irritation and a surprised "oh!", she seems to recall that the journal is there. ]

Um, does anyone know how to make jewelry...? I'm not having a lot of luck. I probably should have asked before I started...

Oh well. It's at least better than what would have happened if I'd been affected by that weird experiment last week... [ a quiet laugh.

Mmhmm! But I don't really know what to do at all. I got some string, but then realized I didn't actually know how to put it all together...

[ conveniently forgets to mention she does, in fact, have memories of Kairi's charm. she doesn't have any memories of Kairi actually MAKING it, anyway. la la la leads her to her room. On the desk are the shells, and a length of sky blue string. ]

[Following, following. Kairi's just going to look over the shells there.] These are perfect size and everything. [Picking up a shell, she takes it and the string, motioning for Xion to watch.] You just need to thread the shells onto the string, see? [And thus, demonstrating!]

[ oh hey. ]

I guess I didn't notice those little holes before... [ watches, smiling a little. ] I feel kind of silly now.

They're really kind of small, and threading the string's pretty tricky, too. [She threads another shell through before handing the string to Xion.] Here, you try.

[ She gently takes the thread and picks up another shell, tilting her head a little before she gives it a try. It takes a moment or two, but-- ]

Ah, I got it! Thanks, Kairi. Now I won't have to worry about losing these anymore.

Sure. These are going to look great as a necklace. [She's just going to watch the other girl for a few moments.] What made you decide to turn them into a necklace?

[ just smiles a little and keeps working. ] Well ... back home, shells were pretty important for me. There was one that I always used to hold onto... but I lost it when I came here. So I thought this time I'd actually make something that I could wear. That way I wouldn't lose them again.

Why was it so important? [Still just watching, feeling a bit odd at how similar the two of them seem to be...except, oh, right, she's sort of based on her.]

... sometimes, back home ... things would happen, and Roxas and I would fall asleep for a long time. It happened to me first... and when I finally woke up, there were a bunch of sea shells next to my pillow. He'd been putting one there every day. I kept one of them, to remember it by. And later, when it happened to him... I left sea shells by his pillow.

[ she pauses, smiling warmly and a little wistfully at the memory ] So I guess I sort of associate sea shells with friendship... they mean a lot to me. Riku didn't know that, though. I guess he just had a good hunch!

Riku's pretty good at guessing, I'll give him that. But...that's so sweet of both of you. Where'd you get the seashells from though? Never Was didn't seem like it'd have a huge supply of them.
