[ When Xion arrived back home from a grueling month-long mission, the first thing she did was not check her journal. She headed home. Home, where Luke is. He'd been there, which was wonderful.

He'd also filled her in on all that she'd missed, which wasn't so wonderful. ]

It's scary, sometimes... how much things change. I missed so much while I was gone. I'm so sorry, everyone. I'm home now.

Sometimes, I feel like I've been here such a long time... maybe because it has been a long time. It'll be three years in November... won't it? I don't remember anymore when I got here... I'm pretty sure it was November. It feels like so long ago. Like lifetimes have passed since then. I've grown up so much in this place... and so many people have come and gone. [ Kairi.

A beat. ]

I'm sorry. I shouldn't be rambling like this.

We're starting to get some New Feathers in, right? My name is Xion. I work at the clinic, I'm part of the S.O.S Brigade, and I'm head of the Kyoshi warriors. If you ever need help, you can come talk to me. I'll do anything I can.

Um... I guess I have one last thing I want to talk about. I've got a lot of points now from going on missions... what do you guys do with your points? Or what would you do, if you had them? I sort of know what I want, but I guess I'm looking for other ideas, too.

Oh! [ She considers this. ] I guess it must be... that is strange. Then again, is it any stranger than gods and fairies and all the other amazing things we see here? For all we know, maybe the Malnosso had something to do with it. [ Thoughtfully. ] We'll probably never know.

Considering aging this slowly is normal on our world, I doubt it's the Malnosso. I'd be more worried if we aged faster than this- our lifespans would be halved.

[Considering how short his life is supposed to be anyway, he'd rather not have it get any shorter.]

[ That gets a mixed reaction. Something between surprise and uncertainty. Largely because he just sort of inadvertently reminded her of...

... well, best to move on, probably. So she recovers pretty quickly, shaking it off. ]

Well... I'm pretty glad you guys seem like you age at the rate the rest of us do. It would be strange, otherwise.

It is strange, because we don't. You haven't noticed?

That we age more slowly than the rest of you. By the standards of Luceti, I should be 45 years old, but I obviously don't look it. Luke's the same way.

.... just give her a moment while she thinks about this, rolling her eyes skyward in thought. Gosh, that's strange. Thinking about Luke being 45 years old in different terms. She isn't really sure if he's changed or not since she's known him... he might be a little taller. It wouldn't really matter to her, anyway; it wouldn't change how much she loves him.

But the thought is an odd one. Still...

When she's done thinking it through, she actually laughs a little, and filters the message. ]

That's even stranger. I'm really only three, but I look and feel like I'm seventeen. Luke looks around the same age, but you and he should be way older... that's going to get confusing someday! [ Another laugh. She doesn't seem all that bothered by it. ]

[Well, at least she's not making a big deal out of it. He'd probably have lost some respect for her if she'd caused a big stink about it, and that's pretty hard to win back. ...Not that he respects her a lot, but for him, it's a Big Thing.

Making light of the situation - as terrible as he is at that - is probably the way to go.]

Three? By our standards you're practically a newborn. I had no idea that my idiot replica was a cradle robber.

That's more or less the way to describe it. It isn't As noticeable with adults as it is with children, at least.

You're right. I never would have guessed unless you told me! I guess I'll have to tease Luke for not letting me know sooner.

He has a habit of overlooking the minor details of life.

[Because ultimately, it's not something that would matter to Luke, but it's good to be up-front about these things.]
