[ There is a creature in the plaza.

Though initially it hid behind the clothing shop, it seems to be venturing out now, just slightly ... looking for an opening to sneak away.

Can this creature summon portals on its own? Xion does not understand it, this body. She has seen these things before, of course, but to BE one? It's strange and terrifying. She'd known before, when she had Sora's face, felt it, but ... hadn't that been an exception? She'd tried -- right now, she couldn't even talk. And she could feel it. This wrong face, this wrong body, not hers. The only thing that might mark her, right now, is a curious (possibly cruel) artifact the Malnosso let her keep upon her return. Around the creature's neck, on a chain, is a ring. Xion does not seem to have realized it is there. She has rather more important things on her mind, after all.

Turned into a Dusk. The one threat Xemnas always turned on his members should they become unruly. She'd known. But how... he's not here! She'd only been taken for a night at most. How could the Malnosso....

What is wrong with her?

Should you be about in the evening, you may see this creature trying to rush, twist, and dart its way back to house 14 in that odd, swaying way Dusks seem to move.

But be careful if you run into her while you're out -- she just might turn into someone else entirely. ]

[He mostly meant to do a heads up thing but it's her decision, besides he doesn't know her friends so... With some people it's better to deal with them in person.]

Whatever you think is best, you know your friends after all.

[He almost misses the change, if it wasn't because he's looking at her trying to make sure that she's all right and so. But still it's hard to tell so he mostly just blinks at the strands of hair that are visible, is it him or her hair is spiker now?]

[ She hasn't noticed a change! Not yet, anyway. She'll nod her head to indicate he should follow her, and lead them back out... though once they're outside, she'll abruptly seem a little lost. Where do they go now...? Which place is quickest? Best?

Very briefly, she thinks of Seventh Heaven, and Sanji, and tries to hide the pang of sadness that crosses her face. She could really use her father figure right now... even if she'd also hate him seeing her like this.

Lost in thought, she ends up just standing there, silent. ]

[He notices her standing there and lost in thought... Oh well, Keiichi will be trying to grab her hand and drag her with him towards Seventh Heaven. Yes, he knows Sanji's there, no he doesn't know if they are friends beyond the experiment but it's still a great place to eat. ~~It's that or get her to one of his homes.~~]

Let's just grab something to eat at Seventh Heaven before you change again and lose your mouth. If you don't want to confront someone yet given the appearance change and the coat we can just say you're a new arrival and you can avoid talking for now.

[ Grabbed! Though initially startled, Xion lets herself be pulled along ... though she's not entirely happy about it. She knows Sanji isn't AT Seventh Heaven right now... he disappeared pretty promptly after the last experiment. But that does at least mean she can get a bite to eat without running into him, looking like this...

She's silent for a moment, considering his words. Then she just nods, though he may not see it, as she's still trailing behind him slightly. ]

... okay.

[Keiichi doesn't know, he had never talked to Sanji before the experiment after all, and after it he actually had some adjustment to do before bothering to try to poke at anyone from the family that he remembered. Haruhi, Minato, Elicia and Hughes were mostly the only ones to whom he talked about it.]

It won't take long. Besides, everyone feels better after filling their stomachs a bit!

[ She just has A Lot Of Feelings about this stuff, really. Most of which she won't let show. But once again he wins a tiny smile out of her, because hey, it's true. Finally she catches up so she's walking beside him, instead of behind. ]

... you're right. Still, I ... I think I liked it if you asked for something for me. [ Her smile turns a little nervous. ] I don't want to freak anyone out if my appearance changes midsentence.

[That's it, keep smiling, girls should never wear any other expression other than a smile.]

You mean that I make the order? Sure, no problem. I was going to do so unless you said otherwise. But your voice is all normal... Oh, but you couldn't talk before, could you? Mean when you were than strange thing that didn't stop still.

[ Oh, it's more that she doesn't want to look someone in the eye and end up a boy or a Dusk or whatever the hell again in the space of a breath. (Even if she already is a boy and doesn't know it.) But ... yeah, let's go with the talking thing. ]

Yeah. So ... just in case, right?

[ They're nearing the restaurant anyway. And against her better instincts, Xion still hesitates at the door. ]

All right.

[Again hesitating? Keiichi offers his best confident smile and tightens the hold on her hand a bit to try to transmit courage.]

Don't worry, I'll help you and not leave your side until you're safe and at home. I'll take care of everything so don't worry.

[ ...

For a moment she only looks at their hands. The way he's holding hers.

How many times in her life is she going to need other people to take care of her? Why does this always happen?

...

Fine. A smile. From a girl this time, with red hair. ]

... thanks. But once we go in ... I'm just going to wait by the door, okay? [ There's a vaguely apologetic look and tone in there, but ... as it is, this is testing the limits of her bravery. This time, she'll wait for him to lead the way inside. ]

[It's nothing personal, Xion, he just likes to have people let him help even a little. It's as if he's always trying to help others to make up for something, but it's stupid, he knows he can't make up for what he did.

This time he notices the change clearly, though he noticed that the hand was kind of boyish. Still you won't hear him say anything, pointing out to her each and every change wouldn't be nice.

He leads the way inside and stops at the door, letting go of her finally.]

All right, what do you want to eat? I'll go and get it.

[ It's kind of girlish, now, if that helps. Though she does take her hand back when he lets go and rubs her wrist, an idle, unconscious motion. ]

... Just a sandwich would be okay.

[ ... true to her word she's staying pressed quite close to that door. ]

[Keiichi just nods.]

Okay I'll be back in a bit.

[Maybe a bit longer, depending on how fast he gets a couple of sandwiches. But he will return, eventually.]

[ ... fidget.

She just keeps her head down and stays to the side of the door until he gets back, not looking at anyone else who might be around.

Sanji...

By the time Keiichi returns, she'll be yet another girl. Brown hair trails out from beneath her hood, this time. ]

[He pauses for a second on noticing the hair... Really, good thing the coat doesn't change or he would have been confused even if he knew about her current condition. Anyway, he smiles and offers her a sandwich.]

Here you go, one delicious sandwich for milady. And another one for me because I got hungry when ordering it.

[Laughing.]

We can leave now if you want and eat while we go to your place.

[ ... she smiles, a quiet laugh escaping her. It's very strange, to be so at ease around someone she barely knows, especially while she's like this, but ... Keiichi seems to have a knack for it. ]

That's only fair. [ She'll go ahead and take that sandwich. ]

We can eat on the way. Hopefully I don't lose my mouth again. [ ... with some humor, remarkably. ]

[He aims to have her as much at ease as possible. Because it's bad enough to be like this without others adding stress to it, so he's actually pretty pleased to see her smile and seem more calm than she was some minutes ago.]

Don't worry, I'll keep a close eye on you. If there's any sign of Miss Mouth going on a trip somewhere I'll let you know... And catch the sandwich if those little hands decide to go on a trip too.

[She didn't seem very capable of holding things in that first form. He'll eat his sandwich extra slowly, though, just in case anything fails and she ends without hers, so she can eat the rest of his once she has a mouth again.]

[ She laughs, the sound of it honest. ]

Thanks, Keiichi. It's nice to know I have someone with me who'll take such good care of my food.

[ ... she's making light of it, a little, but she really is very grateful to him. And she'll eat her sandwich ... actually pretty quickly as they walk. She WAS starving. ]

[Yeah, she seems to eat with enthusiasm and it actually makes Keiichi delay in even starting his own sandwich to offer it to her when she's done.]

Poor sandwich, it never stood a chance.

[ ... she finishes it off somewhat sheepishly. After she's done: ]

I told you I was hungry! [ And a sheepish laugh to go with that awkward smile. But at his offer she waves her hands and shakes her head. ] Still, I think one sandwich was enough.

[Keiichi smiles and nods at her negative, he won't complain but he wouldn't have complained either if she had wanted it after all.]
