... oh, that's just n-n-not fair.
[ In the woods bordering the western lake, this one, having just come to only a moment ago. Her tone may be a little irritated, but, well, she sounds okay, not hurt or anything. That's a plus, right?
Well, except for the fact that she's ... not very well dressed for the weather. She's stuck in the same training outfit her older self showed up in, a black ensemble that shows her midriff... only now there is a scar. A long scar, so long it vanishes into her clothing, extending fully from her left breast to her right hip. Of course, only the long slice of it across her belly is visible.
It's a scar, by the way, that her older self did not possess when she turned up in the same clothes. Curious.
Xion's not thinking about that right now, though. What she's thinking about is that it's freezing -- her luck to show up in the middle of a cold snap! And she's a little bothered that the scar is on display, but... well, what can she do about it? With a sigh that comes out on a violent shiver, she climbs to her feet. (At least she's got shoes.)
This has happened to her so many times now she's getting sort of used to it, and it's a nice change to at least not come back feeling sick/hurt/terrified/some combination therein. She'll flip through the journal a bit, fighting off more shivers, before speaking. Her speech is a little garbled, unfortunately, by her chattering teeth. ]
D-D-D-Does anyone know w-w-w-what day it is? I wonder if I m-m-m-m-missed Christmas. [ a beat, then ] D-D-Did they really have t-t-to drop me off so f-f-f-f-far out?
[ Walking all the way back, dressed like this, in this weather? ... send halp. ]
(ooc; OKAY SO. for once I am going to obey the rules of time and space. Luke got there first, so he's gonna pick her up. if you want to poke her at the lake in an action tag, that's totally cool, but just know it's only Luke taking her home. easier on my poor brain for once.)

[voice]
You're not hurt, are you?
[voice]

[voice]
Hang on a sec.
[ and away she goes. she'll come back a few minutes later when she's gotten some wood, then brings the journal with her as she goes to get more. the activity helps stave off the shivers. ]
It was really scary, at first. And they do terrible things sometimes. But this time wasn't that bad... a lot of people do come back pretty beat up, though.
[voice]
[voice]
You can't, Ventus. No one can. People have been here for years... they've definitely tried that. Nothing works. [ more wood more wood. ]
[voice]
[Oh, wait.]
You know, you don't have to call me that. Ven's fine.
[voice]
[ ENOUGH WOOD. she gets it all in a pile, leaving the journal for a minute, then sets it ablaze with some help from Eferin and a Fire spell. ]
There! Now I won't freeze so much.
[voice]
[voice]
[ right, they're friends, aren't they? ]
Are you two close?
[voice]
[voice]
What's your world like, Ven?
[voice]
Sometimes I really miss it.
[voice]
[ a little wistful. TWTNW was so dreary... so dark. She'd love to have lived in a world like Ven's. ]
[voice]
[He pauses, thinking something over. It's... odd, really.]
Y'know, Terra always told me that all the stars in the sky are different worlds. If that's true, then maybe our worlds aren't as far as it seems.
[voice]
[ she looks up at the sky. it's day out right now, of course, but... the stars at night. they're all so bright. the thought of TWTNW being close... is not actually a good one. she'd rather it be far, far away. ]
[voice]
[A beat.]
But someone did say that the sky looks different here, so maybe the worlds aren't the ones we know.
[voice]
[ a pause of her own, a little longer. ]
... who knows? I'd like to think your home is maybe a little nearer. It's a nice thought.
[voice]
That's why I was thinking that the barrier's here, or maybe part of the reason. If we can't reach those stars, then maybe that's why we can't go home.
[It's just a thought, anyway. Hum.]
Yeah, it'd be nice if it was. Master Eraqus is probably really worried about me, since I left without permission. I don't plan to go back just yet, but I wonder if he's okay.
[voice]
[ ... headtilt. ]
You weren't allowed to leave? Why not?
[voice]
[Ah. Give him a second, and he'll answer her question.]
Well, Master Eraqus didn't think I was ready to see other worlds. He just wanted to keep me safe, but I'm glad I left. If I stayed home, I would've missed so much.
[voice]
Keep you safe from what?
[voice]
Maybe I'm not as experienced as Terra and Aqua, but I wish he would've given me a chance.
