[ Xion sits down to make this post in her room, quietly unhappy about it, but knowing she has to persevere. He wouldn't want her to be sad, she knows it.

She'll have to find a new teacher.

But Xion finds she just can't sit still, and rises, speaking as she moves down the hall. ]

For anyone who knew him... Longshot has...

[ then she notices something. Sora's door is slightly ajar, and the inside of the room...

as if entranced, Xion slows, then moves towards it, giving a gentle push. ]

Gone ...

[ it's empty. the room is empty, completely bare of any sign that Sora was ever there. ]

... home.

[ and that's it. Xion has lowered her journal, giving an upside-down view of the wall through the journal's camera as she stares at this empty room.

it takes a moment -- a long, numb, endlessly empty moment that may go on for two or even three minutes -- for Xion to sink to her knees. only then does she finally, slightly, come back to her senses. she adds her final statement in a voice that, while even, is just barely above a whisper. ]

And ... and Sora ... Sora has also ... gone home.

[ if heartbreak had a sound, it would sound like her voice. for anyone who replies to her over the journals, it will be some time before she responds. housemates will likely get to her first. ]

[ she pauses, almost like she wants to say something else. "don't ever leave," perhaps. but the words don't come out. instead her voice remains soft, impossibly sad. ]

I knew when he wouldn't get back to me that something had to be up... I think it might have happened a while ago. But you're welcome.

He was a good guy. But the war was over for him, so where he's going back to... it's pretty good.

[Sure, that doesn't make you stop missing a person, but... he hopes it helps.]

[ Fenimore is already there by that point, leaning on the railing ~~if the bridge has one~~ and staring into the river. She didn't want to make Xion have to wait in this mood, so she had hurried along. Fenimore still looks a little tired--as everyone would, after last week--but it's faded and is not nearly as bad as Xion.

She looks up as Xion approaches. She takes a look at Xion and wordlessly walks into arm's reach. ]

...Come here. [ And she'll be trying to pull Xion into a hug. She looks like she needs one. ]

... I'm not very good at comforting others.

[Half an hour doesn't seem too long for Kratos, and indeed, he speaks as if he was still sitting in the chair, probably reading some other book.

He? Kratos didn't know much about Sora, but let's worry about that later. His voice takes on a softer tone as he speaks to her.]

Do you need someone with you right now?

[Ramirez knows very little about Xion herself. He has no idea how truly unfortunate this situation is for her.

But he knows the feeling her voice seems to betray. The girl sounded so lost and aimless- like something that had been holding her together was cruelly torn away from her in an instant.

He's had that experience before. It wasn't his first and it wouldn't be his last, but the impact never seemed to lessen.]

...I understand.

[...And for all intents and purposes, it may sound like he does. His voice is soft and holds nothing but empathy. Ramirez doesn't like physical contact; he's not used to it and it makes him uncomfortable. But had Xion been in front of him when she had voiced that, his arms would have been around her in a moment.]

...how long do you think he's been gone?

[Longshot? No, he doesn't recognize the name. But Sora?

It's not that he was close to the guy, either, though they'd spoken on a few occasions. But he remembers everything Xion told him - how intertwined their stories are.

Does it feel like you lost a piece of yourself, Xion-chan?]

Xion?

...this is the third time. [It doesn't make it much better at all, really. But Roxas continues anyway.] We don't know that. There's a way to get him out, there's a way to get him back. [But then he looks up and just gives her a long hard look.] No, Xion, it's not better if he wasn't stuck here with us. Without us, you know he can't...be safe. [Because yeah, he totally picked up on what she actually meant.]

[ Xion remembers hearing when Robin went home.

She wonders, a little, if this is what it felt like.

Only, only for Sanji does Xion reply right away. Kairi was an exception because Kairi is ... Kairi; most everyone not in the house, quite a few people, had to wait. Except for Sanji.

Not that she knows what to say, or how to even say it. her voice is still so quiet and broken. ]

Sanji.

... that's good to know. I'm glad.

[ it's true; she means it. but it doesn't sound very convincing at all, what with her voice so hollow. ]

[ for what it's worth, Xion does pick up on it. she hears, echoed in his voice, the same pain she's feeling. her first feeling is to wish he didn't have to understand -- no one should go through this sort of thing.

her second feeling is a flickering gratefulness. ]

How did you get through it...?

[ she doesn't realize what a personal question that is, unfortunately. ]

... I don't know. It can't be more than a few hours now... I mean, I'm pretty sure he was still here last night...

[ hugged. and quite surprised by it, really. at least for Xion, Fenimore's always been about tough love, always erring more on the side of giving advice and nudging her to take care of herself than just simply offering comfort.

for a moment, Xion is too startled to react ... and then she leans against the girl, shoulders jumping as she fights off tears.

she did need a hug. she really, really needed a hug. ]

[Equally unfortunately, this is not the person to go to when trying to figure out how to cope with grief.

He does not handle emotion well. At all.]

I had no choice. There's little you can do here.

[His tone is still soft, still sad...but there's a biting bitterness behind it now.]

[ Never fear, Xion. Tough love is certain to follow. For example, if she keeps from crying for more than half a minute, she'll be criticized for holding back. But Fenimore can give her that half minute of peace. ]

[Are you alright? Except you're obviously not.

You want some company? It's not as if she doesn't have her best friends to grieve with her.

And he's silent the entire time, weighing each thought carefully before he finds what he wants to say]

If you're not busy later, I could use some company.

He was. [She's positive of that.] But I didn't...maybe they took him in the middle of the night. I guess it doesn't matter when though. [She looks at the empty room again, looking for any sign that he may still be here.]

[He doesn't really have an answer for that. This is going to be hard on all of them, but harder on Roxas and Xion for a number of reasons. He moves out to the hall with her but doesn't really look at her.]

He'll be okay. He's Sora. You guys gotta hang in there for him.

[ oh, Sanji. Others have asked if she's wanted company, and she hasn't known what to say. As his thinking is absolutely correct; she has the company of her friends as all of them grieve.

She doesn't really want company.

But if someone else wants company, well...

That she can do. In fact.. ]

... I'd like that ... Sanji. When...?

Two hours from now? [He's worried that might be pushing it, but--

He's willing to bet she wants out of her house for a while]

I'm sorry about Sora.

Yeah... [A pause. But then she's probably got it a lot worse than him, huh? Especially when there's two of them and...] ... Are you gonna be all right there?

[As angry as he is-- as upset as he is, Riku takes a deep breath, pushing it all aside. He steps up to Xion and places a hand on her shoulder.]

He's left before, but he came back before long. For all we know, it could be the same this time.
