[ Xion sits down to make this post in her room, quietly unhappy about it, but knowing she has to persevere. He wouldn't want her to be sad, she knows it.

She'll have to find a new teacher.

But Xion finds she just can't sit still, and rises, speaking as she moves down the hall. ]

For anyone who knew him... Longshot has...

[ then she notices something. Sora's door is slightly ajar, and the inside of the room...

as if entranced, Xion slows, then moves towards it, giving a gentle push. ]

Gone ...

[ it's empty. the room is empty, completely bare of any sign that Sora was ever there. ]

... home.

[ and that's it. Xion has lowered her journal, giving an upside-down view of the wall through the journal's camera as she stares at this empty room.

it takes a moment -- a long, numb, endlessly empty moment that may go on for two or even three minutes -- for Xion to sink to her knees. only then does she finally, slightly, come back to her senses. she adds her final statement in a voice that, while even, is just barely above a whisper. ]

And ... and Sora ... Sora has also ... gone home.

[ if heartbreak had a sound, it would sound like her voice. for anyone who replies to her over the journals, it will be some time before she responds. housemates will likely get to her first. ]

[ it's only the "too" that makes her reply to this a lot sooner than she did the others -- about ten minutes after her initial message. ]

[ something about that makes her breath catch in her throat. maybe it's the way he says it, the tone in his voice. no, this is not okay, she can't have people being nice to her right now. somehow that's harder to handle than all the sorrow. ]

Th... Thank you for offering, at least. That's ... really kind of you.

[He pauses. Then decides to continue that.] It's just--- I've known a bunch of people who's gone home [One of them being very important to him too.] before, and... I was hoping he'd stick around.

[He pauses. He's not sure if this was an invitation to dig deeper or if she's just speaking out of despair.

...But he'll take a chance. Simply because he doesn't want her to think he's left her.]

...What do you mean?

... Right. I'll be at the bridge in ten minutes. [ or however long it takes to go about halfway across the village ~~/finishes poking at the Nitpicker's Guide~~ She starts to get up when she realizes--oh, wait, even if that is a place that she knows is close to Xion's house, it mightn't be good to bring an upset Xion to a place where Xion was hallucinating last week. Er. ] The west one. [ That should still be pretty close and not too busy, right? ]

Y-yes, he's... he's my friend.

Will you be all right...?

... Sure.

...I don't know. When Sora left last time before he came back, he seemed okay when I did see him again. But now that we're both here and he's not...[He shakes his head.] I don't know. There has to be a way to get him back here.

[Soon enough, she turns to face the doorway and sees Xion there. The look on her face is a pensive one; not necessarily sad just yet, but upset that she wasn't there.] ...I can't believe this.

Ah, you are a friend of his then?

... I apologize. I should have realized. -Herp derp social fail here.-

[He just doesn't want her to stay in this room too long, it'd just keep her miserable.]

Man, you and me both. 'Least I don't think today can get any worse.

[He looks over her shoulder, into the room.

...And then he looks away.]

So he really is gone.

[... Longshot. Well damn.]

[ in her first show of any real emotion, Xion groans quietly and presses a hand to the side of her face, looking up at him. ]

Don't say that, you'll jinx it...

[ still, she moves out of the doorway and into the hall, though once there seems pretty aimless. she looks back at him with an expression that says "what now?" ]

It's happened before, huh...? That should make it better, but... [ it really doesn't. she shakes her head. ] There isn't, you know that. And it'd be better if he wasn't stuck here with us, really... I just hope he's ... safe. [ okay. awake. ]

[ if Xion knew he felt that way, she'd genuinely feel pretty bad. he seems like a nice person, after all. still, the brevity of his reply doesn't really register with her, not right now. instead, she's quiet for a moment before asking her next question ]

What was your name again...?

[ good thinking, Fenimore. Xion really does have enough negative memories associated with the bridge near house 14 as it is. ]

Okay.

[ and she shuts her journal. she'll turn up in about ten minutes, dressed simply but warm, looking every bit as tired as she sounded. ]

... I'm sorry, Kairi.

... I just don't know what we're going to do without him. [ her voice sounds a little bit raw. ]

... it's okay. [ as long as that wasn't intentional. Xion's too tired to deal with anything like that right now. ]

All of us moved in together recently... that's how I found out. It ... it was his idea to do that in the first place... [ her voice catches, just a little. ]

... [ she just nods, looking away, visibly near tears. it's a little harder to contain her emotion around Riku, for some reason. ]

... I'm sorry. [ simply put. she doesn't know what else to say. ]

You've had friends leave too, huh... [ Allen, Colette, Longshot, now Sora... and Hugo and Guybrush, months and months ago. She knows the feeling. ] I -- I know what you mean. [ shoot. her voice gets a little tight and she struggles to keep it level. ] We're hoping he'll come back...
