[ Xion sits down to make this post in her room, quietly unhappy about it, but knowing she has to persevere. He wouldn't want her to be sad, she knows it.

She'll have to find a new teacher.

But Xion finds she just can't sit still, and rises, speaking as she moves down the hall. ]

For anyone who knew him... Longshot has...

[ then she notices something. Sora's door is slightly ajar, and the inside of the room...

as if entranced, Xion slows, then moves towards it, giving a gentle push. ]

Gone ...

[ it's empty. the room is empty, completely bare of any sign that Sora was ever there. ]

... home.

[ and that's it. Xion has lowered her journal, giving an upside-down view of the wall through the journal's camera as she stares at this empty room.

it takes a moment -- a long, numb, endlessly empty moment that may go on for two or even three minutes -- for Xion to sink to her knees. only then does she finally, slightly, come back to her senses. she adds her final statement in a voice that, while even, is just barely above a whisper. ]

And ... and Sora ... Sora has also ... gone home.

[ if heartbreak had a sound, it would sound like her voice. for anyone who replies to her over the journals, it will be some time before she responds. housemates will likely get to her first. ]

[He's a bit surprised that she answered back at all, really. He wouldn't have faulted her had she chosen to forgo his sympathy. But he can't ignore a lady. Especially one as upset as she sounds right now.]

[ and it is hours and hours later before Xion comes back to her journal. there was a lot of grieving to do in that time. there is still grieving to do. but night has fallen, and xion finds she maybe needs to get out of here for a little while.

her voice, at least, has the tiniest bit more life to it. though not instead of sounding empty, she sounds weary and sad. ]

Fenimore? Are ... would you still be okay with seeing me?

I need Sora. [ the response is immediate, bald and raw, far too open. she regrets it instantly. but it is the truth, and now that she says it, she has to live with it. ]

... I don't know what I need right now. I'm sorry. This is... [ hard. agonizing. something. something she hasn't got words for. ]

[She's back in the house sooner than she thought, immediately heading for Sora's room. Her thought isn't to find Xion right now, but instead to examine every inch of the boy's room. Xion is free to join her, but if she chooses not to, well, then Kairi will go find her.]

[ if that startles her, she gives no sign. they both know Axel is a liar. she lied too, with the best of them, once upon a time.

funny, what happens when their guiding light leaves. all these little rifts so suddenly come back to light.

not that she moves. she stays right there, still holding his hands. ]

Then why doesn't it feel like he will?

[ It doesn't take Fenimore long to reply, as she had been keeping an eye on her journal in case of this very circumstance. ]

[Kratos didn't know what Longshot and Sora meant to her, but it's obvious they were important. When people who meant the world to him left, all he wanted was to be left alone. He isn't so sure if that's the case with her.]

[Yeah, he's aware. That's neither here not there though, and his grip on Xion's hands tightens ever so slightly.]

Because he wasn't supposed to leave without us in the first place. That's what it is, isn't it?

[Axel wasn't even sure. It was hard to say what the Malnosso were going to do, today alone proved that what with the sudden appearance of Ventus and now this.

...the house seemed a little dim already.

He rubbed the back of his neck and gave one last glance around Sora's room.]

... His friends will be upset.

[She understands this and wishes she could say something that would help.]

I'm sorry. Do you need anything?

[Yeah, Riku doesn't even say anything. Instead, he rushes over to Sora's room, and boy does he look pissed.]

Sora has...

... Sora too...?

... [ without comment Xion pushes to her feet, though her shoulders are slumped and all the life has gone out of her. ]

Sometimes, I still really hate it here.

[ she makes a tiny, pained noise, her own grip tightening. ]

That's exactly what it is. Will he really be okay without us? We're supposed to be with him...

... I need to get out of here for a while. It's just not the same without him here. Should I meet you somewhere...?

[ well ... Xion goes back to the room when she hears all the noise. all she does, though, is watch quietly from the doorway without a word. ]

You didn't. It's... we're-- [ a pause ] I'm not really sure what's going to happen now.

[ even for Kratos, Xion does not reply right away. Like some of the others, he'll wait about half an hour before he hears anything back.

but since it is Kratos... Xion's voice actually betrays some of what she's feeling, and becomes very tight indeed ] Kratos... he's gone.

[ aaaaabout two hours later. maybe longer. ]

We are upset.

[ Xion gets back to this after roughly an hour. she sounds tired. ]

Hermione...? I don't know... I just wish he'd come back.

[ Xion's still there, in the doorway, when Riku returns to the house, though by now she is on her feet. the look on his face actually does manage to surprise her out of her numbness oh so slightly. ]

Riku...?

[ it's hours later she gets back to this. sorry, emil. ]
