[ That surprise wins a small laugh. Even after all this time... he still worries. It's sweet, really. ]

Okay. Just give me a few days! I don't think I'll need a lot of help with moving, anyway. Portals, remember?

... This is going to be the easiest move ever, isn't it?

[He sure wishes he had portals at his disposal for this. There's still several heavy things that need to be moved from one place to another.]

Hehe! Maybe. I won't say no if you want to help out anyway! You know... you could have asked for my help when you moved. [ Teasing, mostly. ]

I probably could've, huh... [It's said in that light tone as if he's realizing what a good opportunity he missed out on. The next thing he says is more teasing, an offer she doesn't really have to take up.] I've still got some stuff back at my old place, if you wanted to make it ten times easier for me.

Sure! I could do that. [ Of course she takes it seriously. She heard the teasing tone, but she really doesn't mind. ]

... Really?

[There's that small amount of surprise again. But instead of just excitement and happiness as his next reaction, his expression softens, and he leans back to lay against the bed, one hand holding the journal above him and the other against his stomach.

A year and a half together, and she still makes him act like an utter doofus sometimes.]

You're the best, you know that? I'd kiss you right now if I could.

I don't mind! Um... [ Aw, jeez. She grins, and blushes. ]

I could come over. Now, I mean.

[Just like when she first answered his message, his eyes light up, and he sits up in bed again.]

Hey, yeah! I mean, if you've got nothing else to do... I can show you what I've got here so far!

Hehe, okay. I'll be there soon.

[ "Soon" meaning "in about three seconds," which is when her portal opens in the apartment, with her following through soon after. ]

[For once, the portal doesn't make him jump. Instead, he moves to meet her, his hands reaching out to take hers soon after she steps through.]

That was quick.

[ ... something about that strikes her as so sweet she blushes, blinking at him momentarily. ]

Um...

[ ... aw, heck with it. She leans up on her tiptoes and presses a kiss to his cheek. ]

Well, I told you soon! I wasn't doing anything.

[Luke's smile turns into a grin when she kisses his cheek, and he squeezes her hands and lets them sway slowly as a result.]

Good... I wouldn't want to pull you away from anything. [He glances about the room, then lets go of one of her hands to gesture to the general area.] I've already got some stuff in here, but not a lot.

[It's the room with the window, and on the sill are a few of his plants that used to be in Asch's room. The music box Xion made him, as well as a picture of her, are on the nightstand, and about half of his clothes are in the closet. Other than a few other things, it's relatively empty.]

[ She glances around, noting the sparseness with private amusement. And of course, the presence of the music box and picture on the night stand just melts her heart.

Still, it starts to sink in. They're going to live here. Together.

The thought makes her move closer to him, so she can rest her head on his shoulder. ]

... it's going to be nice. Being here together.

[Sure, it's sparse right now... but once he starts really moving things in, there will surely be more belongings here.

In the meantime, though, Luke smiles down at her, leaning his head over to kiss her temple before he rests it against her.]

Yeah... I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to happen. I know we're still pretty young, but... Here we are.

... it feels right.

... It really does.

[Despite it not feeling like that big of a step, Luke knows better. He could always live with Asch again, but how dangerous would that be, with Arietta living with him? Arietta, who'd probably kill him in his sleep on the first night, if not earlier. Plus... he already acknowledges that he's too dependent on Asch. While he knows he can't break away from it, it's probably best not to push it too.

If Guy came back... Sure, he might want to live with him too, and vice versa. But, again, it's a matter of dependency. Luke felt helpless enough sitting there alone on the bed, wishing for the blond to tell him lunch was ready.

It's about time to do his best to make sure that kind of thing doesn't happen again. And maybe he won't have to do it completely alone.]

... I'm glad you feel the same way. [ She gives his hand a gentle squeeze before she steps away. ] Come on. Why don't we start getting the last of your stuff?

Right. Just lead the way. [He rests a hand on her back beneath her wings as if to indicate that she should lead the way as well, and he'll follow if she uses the portal. Time to finish this process of moving out and growing up.]

[ That gets her wings to flutter, and with a quiet laugh she opens a portal. ] You won't jump, right?

Come on, I haven't jumped the past few times you used it...

[ This face as she leads the way through. ]

Though it'll mostly clear up once they arrive. The apartment is definitely emptier, noticeably so. But there's still quite a few things left over, things that weren't quite as important.]

So are you okay with leaving it open, or...? [He's only ever seen her leaving the portal open for a short time...]

Huh? [ She looks at him, then at the portal. ] Oh! Yeah, it'll be okay. I guess if we're not sure, I could just close it and reopen another one in case.

Okay... I've just never seen it open for longer than a few seconds, is all. [He glances back at it for a moment longer before he moves on to gather up some things. A lamp that Asch had brought back and left behind when he moved, a plush chair - and on the side of the room are a few things that Luke doesn't need or want anymore, like a few swords that he's collected that he's lost interest in and other little decorations. Impulse buyer, he is.]

[ He worries too much. But to make him feel better, she shuts it with a wave of her hand and joins him in picking some things up. But she notices the things off to one side... ]
