[ ... this is going to be short and sweet. it tears at Xion's heart the tiniest bit to do this -- it always hurts, doing this -- but if there are others who don't yet know ... they're owed this, aren't they? ]

... in case anyone-- friends of his, I mean ... if you hadn't heard yet, Naoki was sent home.

... I wonder who's going to take care of the New Feather stations now.

[ GUESS WHERE SHE IS? That's right, That One Bridge next to house 14. After all, she associates this place with Naoki as much as anything. It hurts a little, but ... it seemed like the right place. ]

... maybe. [ that rather depends on who you're talking to. when you're dead, like her, going home ... isn't so good. but for Naoki, well ... it probably was better. ] But that doesn't mean it isn't sad, when it happens.

Ah... Sorry. [Seems like a sore subject, though Marica doesn't quite understand yet. Maybe it's because she hasn't been here for very long.]

I only knew him for a couple weeks, but he's a really nice guy.

No, it's okay... a lot of people think that way. Because being home is good, right? [ ... right. ] It's just sad to lose a friend.

He is. He really is... I hope he's doing okay there.

So it's kind of like someone moving away, right? He'll be all right... and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to be so sad.

[Sokka is just kind of wandering along, aimlessly, since life is kind of uh... boring when you're not allowed to do stuff. So he's crossing it when Xion is. He doesn't really notice that she's upset or anything. He should probably say hi, but maybe he should try to cross without her noticing. But he probably shouldn't. It's not like she'll give him a hard time (and maybe she's already seen him like this at school). These thoughts go through his mind as he crosses and, ultimately, trips over his own feet because of a puddle from a previous rain. Oops.]

[ ... is dat sum bitty!Sokka.

she turns when she hears him stumble, blinking momentarily at the bitty. yes, she did see him at school, and ... well ... she won't tease him. much. probably. ]

... Sokka? [ gonna move on over to him. ] Are you alright?

[... curses! Caught in action. He gets up to his knees and glances up.]

... yeah, I'm fine. Hey.

[ ... okay, she has to smile a little bit as she holds a hand out to him. ] Need a hand?

[He stares suspiciously at the hand. Is this because he's short!? He reluctantly takes it and pulls himself up.]

Uh. Thanks. [But not really.]

I had heard, I'm sorry you didn't know.

... I only found out when I got back. Sanji told me. [ a pause. ] ... I miss him already.

I do too.

... he'll be okay, though. Right?

Yeah, he's really strong. So he'll be just fine.

[ Helios is shocked. Naoki...is gone? His reply is sullen. ]

I-I see. Thank you miss for informing everyone.

... I'm sorry. [ this is why she wanted to say it. even if it's sad... his friends deserved to know, if they didn't already. ] But ... you're welcome. What's your name?

It's nothing to apologize for, miss. Somethings...cannot be controlled and unfortunately this is one of them. Ah my name is Helios Sprensonne and yours is?

Helios? You live with a man named Giles, don't you?

[ Oh? ] Yes that's correct! You know Giles then?

[So Asch is on his way home - temporarily at least - to fetch a book while Guy is, hopefully, working at the bar. He's not entirely sure about Luke's whereabouts, but he doesn't have that convenient fonic link for nothing. As he's passing by, he notices Xion there, but opts to remain silent. He doesn't know her or like her enough to call out, and she looks pretty lost in thought, so. Better to leave well enough alone.]

[ Thoughtful is not the same as lost in thought -- and it's hard to miss that red hair, even out of the corner of her eye. Though it does take a moment, she notices him, straightening up and shutting her journal as she turns to look at him. ]

Asch... [ ... and then she promptly trails off, realizing she has nothing to say. oops. ]

[Asch pauses, glancing sidelong at her. Oh. Great.]

...What? [Why did she just trail off like that? If she wants to talk, she should talk and get it over with.]

... nothing, really. I guess I'm just a little surprised to see you, that's all. [ after all, he hasn't been around the house... that she noticed. but Luke didn't say anything... and maybe he's just quiet? hm. ]

...Hn. Don't expect to see me for long, if that's all. [Which is his sign to continue walking. The sooner he's back at the house grabbing what he's after, the sooner he can get the hell out of the village again.]

[You'll look awfully morose there, Xion. Rena's never been one to be able to ignore that.

She had originally just been detouring from her grocery-shopping, but...well, Keiichi and the others can wait. She sets the bags down by her feet and walks up to Xion, hands folded behind her back.]

It's nice scenery, isn't it? Isn't it?

[ jumps a little, startled out of her thoughts, then blinks at this newcomer. after a moment, though, she smiles. ]

It is. It's one of the reasons I always come here... just to look the view. It's pretty.

Luceti is a very nice village. It always reminded me a lot of home.

[And here she kneels down to her grocery bag, plucking an apple from the top of it and offering it out to Xion.]

Are you hungry? I was going to make bunny apples as a treat for everyone tonight but...ahahaha, I think I got too many.

[Funny, because Ginko is passing by that very same bridge. ~~in a totally timely fashion not late at all~~ He doesn't hail her at first, though, spotting her at a distance. She looks thoughtful.]

[ ~~yeeeeah what is timeliness...~~ thoughtful, really, is all she is. she's not that upset -- at least, not if she doesn't think about it too deeply. but she is thinking -- and thus doesn't notice him, at least not for the moment. she's staring at the water below, mostly, idly thumbing the cover of her journal. ]

['Sup Xion, Emil just happens to be taking Sial out for a walk past that very bridge. And, of course, Sial being the whore for pettins that he is, he races over as soon as he spots someone who could potentially be cuted into a scritch behind the ears.]

[ good lord what is that thing.

... IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!

omgosh. Xion lights right up when she sees it in a mixture of curiosity and adoration. of course she will crouch down and scritch away, grinning.

and then she sees Emil, and headtilts a little, still smiling. ]

Hey, Emil. Is this little guy yours?

[Well, since Sial seems to be happily occupied, Emil will move closer so that he can speak with Xion more easily. He can't help but smile a little himself at her reaction to the chimera, too.]

Yeah, his name is Sial. The Malnosso brought him here from my world the Christmas before last.
