Well, there is my first battle against LeChuck. It was shortly after I became a pirate. I had just met the beautiful Elaine Marley, governor of Melee Island, and we had fallen in love with each other, but she was stolen away by the Ghost Pirate LeChuck and taken to the mysterious Monkey Island. I gathered a crew and a ship, and set sail after them. I had no idea where the island was, and my only clue was an encoded note written by one of only two men known to have visited the island. I figured out the code, which turned out to be a recipe for a Voodoo spell which would take the ship to Monkey Island, and soon we were anchored just off shore.
On the island I was captured by a group of vicious cannibals. However, I was able to trick them into thinking I was a god, and they revealed that they knew a recipe for a potion that could destroy ghosts. Unfortunately, the mystical root needed for this potion had been stolen by LeChuck. So I had to sneak on board LeChuck's ship, steal the root and return it to the cannibals who made the potion.
At that point, LeChuck had already set sail back to Melee Island, where he was planning on forcing Elaine to marry him. I returned to Melee, and destroyed LeChuck's guards by spraying the potion on them. I burst into the church, just in time to stop the wedding. LeChuck was furious, and he knocked the potion out of my hands, destroying it. Things were looking bad, I had to flee, and find something I could use to fight LeChuck. Thinking quick, and using my memory of the town, I was able to find something with similar properties to the potion and use it on LeChuck: Root beer. It was an act of desperation, but it was enough to blast him into a pile of ectoplasmic goo. I found Elaine and we professed our undying love for each other.
