[ There is a girl in the woods west of the village. She's unconscious, and wearing a New Feather dress, so it'd be easy to mistake her as part of the crop of new kids.

However, she is anything but new to this place (and new to showing up wearing things other than what she ought to be wearing gosh darnit), and when she comes to, she will sigh, quietly, under her breath. She wakes up groggy and feeling extremely tired, oddly, so she won't bother trying to go anywhere on her own just yet. It is, thankfully, not cold today. However, it is pouring rain, which is also just her luck. So she will curl up at the base of a tree, trying to get shelter from the worst of it, and reach for her (slightly soggy) journal. ]

This has got to stop happening...

Hey. Sorry I just disappeared like that. Um... can you come pick me up? And bring a coat? Or an umbrella, or something...

[ The first voiced bit, before the filter, was sort of murmured to herself. Now she addresses the journal directly, figuring she's got at least something of a wait ahead of her. ]

Hi, guys. Can anyone tell me what I've missed? Or maybe just how long I've been gone. The draft had only been over for a day or two when I got taken, I think...

[ yeah, you gotta be kidding. give her a moment to lock that completely. she doesn't trust Vanitas one bit not to attempt to hack anything related to Ven. ]

What did he do?

He took me to the other side of the battlefield, and we ended up fighting.

Then, he almost I'm lucky I made it out of there.

[ her first reaction is anger. searing, white hot anger. but all that comes of it is a sharp, cut off noise of rage. she shuts her eyes, taking a moment to master her emotions ... and when she opens them again, and looks at Ven's face, all the anger goes out of her in a rush. ]

That snake... I knew he'd try something. I'm so sorry I wasn't there to help...

I should've expected it, but it was so busy out there that he caught me off guard.

I'm just glad you're okay. Still... he's going to try again, isn't he? [ not a lot of doubt here. she believes the worst of Vanitas at all times, so it'd make sense if he tried to take Ven on again. ]

He'll probably keep trying until he gets the He's really stubborn, and even if I keep running, he'll be right behind me.

... whatever happens, Ven, we'll be here to support you. Okay? I don't know how to help, but ... I'll still do whatever I can.

I just don't know what to say. It's scary just thinking about it.

I mean, I've never had to deal with something like this before. Maybe if Terra was here, he'd know what to do...

[ there's a soft intake of breath, and she very gently shuts the journal, needing a moment to collect her thoughts.

she reopens the journal after a moment, too tired to really corral her emotions. ]

Ven... there has to be-- [ some other way. how many damn times did she hear those awful words? ] ... do you think there's any other way?

[It takes a moment for him to respond. Maybe it was rash of him to say that, but that was a possibility.]

[A beat.]

Aqua told me that she broke the χ-blade and stopped Vanitas back home. I don't know what'd happen, but if it breaks again, then maybe I'll be okay.

[ ... an option.
