[ There's always a noticeable quiet in the village during and after drafts. It's been a long while since Xion's been on one, and while she doesn't precisely miss them, she does somehow feel like she should be there. And when she isn't, she's always left antsy. Wishing there was something she could do. Anything.

It hadn't helped that her father and her boyfriend had both gone, too.

When Sanji had come home, she'd decided to find him and Rapunzel -- but Rapunzel hadn't been available. Not really knowing the girl very well, Xion had decided against bothering her and spoken to the bakery's temporary replacement, instead -- Aang. When she suggests her plan to the two of them, they readily agree.

So on the 8th of April, a week after everyone gets back, Xion, Aang, and Sanji will be setting up tables around the fountain, and on those tables are a delirious assortment of baked goods. Some of them are standard from the bakery, but some are specific desserts from Seventh Heaven, and some are totally new - Xion's invention, or things she and Sanji invented together through hours of baking together.

Yes, it's an impromptu bake sale, only without the sale part. Xion herself will be bouncing around either handing out baked goods to those who come over, or venturing further out to wave passersby over. And she always manages to approach with a bright smile and a hello.

All three bakers are on hand, though, and will be throughout the day. ]

[As Chouji approaches, Sanji not only gives a visible double-take at the sight of him, but quickly finds himself reduced to staring. Shit, it's been... years, hasn't it? - literal years since he's seen this face, and really, he shouldn't be surprised by the sharp tinge of nostalgia and misplaced relief.

Neither should he be happy at all to see him again... even if he is, just a little. When he finally casts his stare down at the baked goods in front of him, he addresses Chouji without meeting his eye for now]

Oi. You looking to sample some?

[The double takes aren't precisely familiar yet, but he's seen one or two in his time here and been braced for more. Shikamaru being sent home, however briefly, only drove the point home more. Chouji doesn't remember people, however close they were last time he was here.

He's a little grateful for the reprieve when Sanji speaks first, answering that question with a smile before dealing with the unspoken ones.]

Definitely. Are you another of the chefs responsible for all this?

[concasse]

That's right! And you can take whatever you want! [At least when it comes to the matter of food, his reactions are as solid as always. And there's quite the available spread, too]

Though you'll have to thank Xion-chan for the actual idea~! She just asked me to help with the baking.

Ah, I will. The baking is an important part of a baked goods sale, though. ...Especially with the "sale" part gone, when all that's left is baked goods. So thank you!

[A pause, then he figures he might as well ask.]

Did we know each other last time I was here?

[concasse]

[Heh, he got caught, did he? Sanji grins and meets his eyes this time, not looking particularly surprised]

We did. You're Chouji, right? From Shikamaru's world.

That's right. And you? [Chouji still feels a little bad asking questions he knows were already answered once. He is ready and willing to return that grin though. Chouji hasn't been doing nearly enough smiling this week, and obviously it's time to remedy that.]

[concasse]

Sanji - head chef of Seventh Heaven! [He gestures with his thumb at the restaurant nearby, then gives an indulgent smile]

Nice meeting you for a second time, eh?

Really? I've been doing most of my own cooking [and Shikamaru's, plus whoever else shows up in the kitchen around mealtimes] since I got here, but I'll have to go out to eat more often!

Yes. It's good to meet you again, Sanji.

[concasse]

You should! I can promise a shitty good meal if nothing else! [Because a "shitty good meal" has all the positive aspects of a "damn good meal", and then some.]

We cook food from all over the universe! So long as I got the recipe, I can make it. [Usually.]

[Sanji has just opened up new worlds of possibilities, quite literally. Chouji's eyes widen and a slow incredulous grin spreads across his face.]

...Are there cookbooks from other worlds here? Ingredients too?

[Yes, Chouji will definitely be showing up at Seventh Heaven in the near future.]

Oh, there's a bunch if you ever drop by the library. And you can find just about anything you want at the grocery.

[he puffs up a little] And I got a cookbook I've compiled over the years from the villagers! If you want, I can lend the shitty thing to ya.

Ah, I guess the library does come in handy.

Really? That would be wonderful! Are you sure you don't mind entrusting it to me? It sounds like you've put a lot of work into the book.

[concasse]

I've got most of the recipes memorized anyway. [Shrugging at that.]

I'm not saying you get to keep it! But I know you won't drag it through the shitty mud, either.

[He laughs. Even if Chouji can't remember, he obviously didn't make a bad impression last time he was here.]

Of course not. Alright, then, I'd be very pleased to borrow the cookbook in addition to stopping by and sampling your cooking.
